I like this blue. A lot. Lucky for me it’s one of those ephemeral colors that the design deities decided was “in”. Here is one of many posts showing off my large collection of the things I own in this blue.

(For future reference I will try to keep these #16a2b0 (Blue) posts to once a month).

Items I own:

Kitchen Items (Part 1)

Here is the first part of all the kitchen items I have! My partner and I have managed to collect a lot when we were introduced to the adulting world and needed to cook for ourselves.

  • Silverstone Pans
    • Large and medium pans
    • Small pan
    • We like these pans, although the they’ve stained quite a bit on the bottom and a little bit on the insides, despite the fact that they are supposed to be non-stick. They still work well and just need a little extra TLC when it comes to cleaning.
  • Teal Hobnail Teapot
    • I like this teapot, the downside is that the enamel around the opening began to peel. I managed to fix it myself by sanding off the loose bits of enamel and dabbing olive oil around it. I then baked it for a few hours to solidify the oil, and it was good as new. Some would argue that olive oil was not the way to go, but cast iron is cast iron, and it worked for me.
  • Kitchenaid Can Opener
  • Blue Mason Jar
    • My partner and I have several of these that have popsicle sticks with chores. We have jars saying “You”, “Me”, “Us”, “Chores”, and “Done” to help denote who does what and what still needs to be done.
  • Silicone oven mit
  • Core Kitchen silicone spoon rest
  • Core Kitchen Cookware Protector
  • IKEA ORDENTLIG coasters
  • IKEA FANTASTISK Napkins

Yes it’s blue, but what color is it?

I’ve had a hard time trying to describe this color. Sometimes I call it teal, sometimes turquoise, and anecdotally aqua, but not aquamarine, cyan, or sky blue. It’s definitely a blue-green, but "blue-green" makes me think of something that is more green than blue, like this. If anyone has a solution to this conundrum, please let me know.

Hello World!

This is the first post of my first ever blog. I’m not really sure what to say on a first post so I’ll jump into what I think should be in this blog.

Backstory for the blog name

Way back when I was a youngin’ in highschool, I went to see Wall-e in theaters. When the credits began rolling, I read off some of the names and positions. I was watching with my partner at the time and we would have contests to see how many names we could find that were similar to names of people we knew. One of the sections I read out loud as “The Invéntory” and commented, “Wow that’s so cool! I bet that’s where they come up with all sorts of cool and novel ideas and implementations” and my partner turned to me and said “Kat, that’s Inventory” and we proceeded to laugh about it. I never was good at pronouncing things…

First Post Ever Whoo!

I come up with ideas left and right, and taking a page from Paul Arden I figured a good way to get them implemented (or inspire others to implement them if they so choose) is by sharing them. I have a lot of ideas, hobbies, and interests that I really want to share. Here is a (not all encompassing by any means) list of all the things I will more than likely write about. This way if people stumble upon this blog, they will know whether to stick around… or maybe they will read the tags.

  • Programming and code stuff
  • Japan, Anime, Japanese
  • Ideas that my brain came up with all by itself
  • Miniature cooking items
  • Miniature and/or Japanese food
  • Moogles. Definitely moogles.

    • Chain mail
    • Paper Craft
    • Perler Beads
